YES?
Well this course is perfect for you.
You may have made clothes but aren’t sure how to get the correct fit or maybe you want to have a go at making your first item of clothing.
You must be able to use a sewing machine, all our sewing machines and equipment will be available for you to use.
You choose the pattern you want to have a go at and your fabric and we will help you to:
Understand the jargon and terminology used
Understand all the different symbols and placement of the pattern pieces
Understand different fabrics
The importance of a toile
Fitting a toile and adjusting your pattern
Construction of your pattern
Finishing techniques
The pattern is not included in the class.
You can buy patterns online or from us we have plenty of patterns we can recommend and more details will follow in your booking confirmation email.

Are you ready to discover the world of overlockers? Our friendly and experienced tutor Hannah will guide you every step of the way in a supportive and fun environment.
We have Janome overlockers for you to use or if you have an overlocker you would prefer to get familiar with please bring it along. Our small class size ensures you get plenty of individual attention, making this a great opportunity to gain confidence using the overlocker. We will be showing you how to thread it and sew with it. We will end the class by making a start on a simple top for you to get to grips with sewing shoulder and side seams, fitting a neckband and putting in sleeves.

Owner of Create and Sew Studio
Dawn Elliott, the founder of Create and Sew Studio, has always had a passion for creativity. Born in Fife, Scotland, Dawn moved to England with her family at the age of 15. After completing her studies in college and university, she settled in the North West of England with her husband and two children. Dawn's journey into sewing began with her mother and grandmother, who taught her to knit and inspired her love for handmade crafts.

Works part time whilst studying at uni. She helps with all sorts of tasks at the studio from
social media, planning and anything Dawn needs help with.

Our very talented quilter. Loves quilting and the more creative side of free-motion machine embroidery.
Previously a cake shop owner Ruth loves helping others and teaches quilting and a few other classes.

Our very talented dressmaking tutor. Day to day, she works at a studio making curtains and blinds, however she is an incredible seamstress too.

Tutor
Julie is our crochet and macramé tutor, they are her favourite craft, she loves creating and learning new projects and finds them both very relaxing. She crochets a lot in her spare time and you can often find her stalls at craft fairs!
