Be warned quilting is such an addictive hobby but so much fun when you know how to do it. Our Fabulous tutor Ruth will help you learn the basic quilting techniques and make a lovely table runner. It will be approximately 11 inch x 32 inch.
You will be shown how to cut your fabric, use a rotary cutter and mat. We will show you how to layout your squares and teach you how to sew and press and line everything up to create a beautiful table runner. This table runner is made using our studio sewing machines but some hand sewing techniques are also included.
This is a beginners quilting class but not for complete beginners, you need to have sewing experience but you only need very basic sewing skills such as completing our beginners Learn to Sew Class, if you are not sure please get in touch and we can help to see if it is right for you.
Your fabric is not included in this class, we will send out what fabric is required after you have made your booking.

This class gives you the perfect opportunity to really delve into the world of patchwork patterns! We will be showing you how to use a block. We will be using the cute "Bjorn Bear” pattern by Elizabeth Hartman in class, we will teach you how to follow the pattern to create the bear block! The pattern is included in the class price and includes instructions for making quilts in three sizes and a quilted pillow cover. All projects are made using conventional patchwork techniques. You can also use the included full-size appliqué pattern to add glasses to your bear blocks!
This class is for intermediate level so someone who has made a quilt or two before. You will learn to create the block including joining squares and making triangles. It is optional if you want to learn to applique the glasses onto your bear block.
In this 3 hour class you should have time to complete one block. You can collect the pattern or we will post it out to you ahead of the class. You then need to bring enough fabric to make your block. We will provide equipment and the machines for you in the studio, however if you have your own sewing kit you are welcome to bring it with you.
