This Jumbo corduroy is a lovely, versatile fabric that lends itself perfectly to trousers, dungarees, coats and much more! It's the perfect mix of cosy and cute, just what you need to make all those snuggly winter garments. What does 4.5 wale mean? When it comes to corduroy the width of the cord is most often referred to as the "wale", or the number of ridges per inch. The lower the wale number the thicker the ridge on the fabric.
